The last days of summer will be animated by Milano Film Festival (9-18 September): independent directors, films premiere, music, get-togethers. The festival’s headquarters will be in Parco Sempione, with a 900 seats open-air cinema, a 12 meter high media tower, a meeting area and other structures like a hammock parking bay to enjoy the park. esterni, in collaboration with Alexander Roemer / ConstructLab, takes care of the venues’ design.

Chico & Rita by Tono Errando, Fernando Trueba and Javier Mariscal will be the special-event feature film selected for the Animation section of Milano Film Festival 2011.

To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Italy’s unification, the third edition of Fai il tuo film opens with a new production project entrusted to young Italian directors. Bruno Chiaravalloti, Simona Risi, Bruno and Fabrizio Urso are invited by Milano Film Festival to realize three films that will tell the stories of three “ Luoghi del Cuore” (Heart Places), beautiful Italian spots that will always lay in their hearts , a perfect blend between a documentary eye and a pohetic vision. Milan Film Festival, together with FAI- Fondo Ambiente Italiano, promotes the projects of fresh italian authors.

The nominees for this years Academy Awards have been announced and we are very happy to see the animation short “Madagascar, Carnet de Voyage” by Bastien Dubois, included in the Animation Marathon of Milano Film Festival’s 15th edition.
Among the nominees the amazing illustration of Shaun Tan directed by Andrew Ruhemann “The Lost Thing”.
After being chosen as the opening film of Milano Film Festival 2010, the french road-movie Robert Mitchum est mort by Olivier Babinet and Fred Kihn has been announced to be released in France on April 13rd. Congratulations!
